Adorkable is the story of two sixth formers, Jeane Smith (blogger, dreamer, jumble sale queen, CEO of her own lifestyle brand, twitter famous, dork) and Michael Lee (friends with everyone, golden boy, likes Jack Wills, ode to his cheekbones on the wall of the second-floor girls' loos at school), who have nothing in common apart from a pair of cheating exes ut despite this they can't stop snogging. How long will they be able to pretend it doesn't mean anything?
Adorkable is a book that has definitely been added to my all-time favourites list. I got it from the library but now I definitely want to go out and buy my own copy. I really, really loved it. This book was perfection.
Both perspectives were well balanced with the right amount of seriousness and lightheartedness (that's a mouthfull, is it even a word?). The two different perspectives were really well written - one minute I could be reading from Jeane's perspective and be frustrated at Michael and the next I could be reading from Michaels perspective and be frustrated at Jeane (they were frustrated at each other a lot, but it was in a cute, I-may-not-know-it-but-deep-down-I-actually-love-you way).
This book was really funny, I couldn't help but laugh out loud at some parts (for example when Michael thinks "Oh God! This is going to seriously screw up my Cambridge interview" after he accidentally tips Jeane over her bike handlebars and thinks her may have killed her).
This book was basically a masterpiece, it had everything you could want in a YA book like this. It had easy-to-connect-and-relate-to characters, it had a swoon-worthy guy and it had an awesome ending. Basically: read it!
My Thoughts on the Cover
I love the cover, it's so cute. I like the repetition of Adorkable" in the background and the colours used, they tie in well together.
